Two albums that may have slipped under your radar in 2005, but are worth a re-examination during these winter months:L'altra- Different Days and Eluvium's Talk Amongst The Trees.
Both highly melancholic records and ideal for downtime listening.

Jodee now has a blog. It's like Andy's, only this is written by his wife...who is funny and witty like Andy, but about ten thousand times more charismatic in person*. She's the TV equivalent to Andy's music. Good stuff.
* This is not to say Andy isn't lively or some sort of curmudgeonous Eeyore character, but when compared side by side it's an inevitable conclusion Jodee is the more energetic of the two.

An update on some things.
There will be two new Thinkbox compilations for 2006. The first, Structure, will deal with the more rhythm based aspects of Thinkbox, with tracks from Steve Roy and Bill Van Loo definitely knocking beats out of the park. The second, Field, will deal with manipulated field recordings of various environments.
An overview of unreleased material, appropriately named Overview, will (hopefully) be released on Chromedecay later this spring.
I have completed an EP of cracked out left field house tracks for Jason Hogans' Really Nice Recordings label. It will be a limited cd_r edition release, and pending decent sales, vinyl.
I have created a series of random improv recordings that I will be sending out to friends for collaboration and deconstruction, which will eventually be released on a label TBA once I get him the final results.
I will be doing a live set in East Lansing February 04. I will also have potentially three audio installations in a Thinkbox exhibition for the Canadian government. Right now, it's looking like that will go down later this summer.
I am close to finishing my first full length album of guitar textures and drones. I am also planning on doing a series of collaborations which could result in another full length.
Needless to say, I'm highly excited for what 2006 will bring.

Before the official party for new year's eve begins I will be reading to a select group of people a new short story I have written; my first fully realized fictional story in almost three years. You mail email me at the address provided on this site if you would like a formal invitation to attend.

One of the greatest avant garde guitarists ever to live passed away Christmas Day. Derek Bailey was a giant decades ahead of his time. I can't find anything on Google News about this matter, so I'm secretly hoping this is a hoax. If not, he leaves behind a vocabulary and a rich language on guitar few have and will ever master.
